At Chood, we believe travel should be about exploration, not worrying about your data. Since Chood doesn’t require an account, we don’t collect personal information like your name, email, or phone number. This policy explains what data we do collect, how we use it, and how you can control your information.

Local Device Data: All your travel guides, photos, videos, and 99 coins balance are stored locally on your device. We don’t upload this data to our servers unless you choose to share a guide with friends (in which case only the shared content is sent temporarily).
Location Data: When you use the map or check-in feature, we access your device’s location to provide accurate directions and nearby recommendations. This data is never stored on our servers and is only used in real-time to enhance your experience.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous, aggregated data to improve Chood, such as which features are most popular and how users navigate the app. This data does not identify you personally.
đźš« Data Sharing & Third Parties
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Here’s how we handle data sharing:
Shared Guides: When you share a travel guide, only the content you’ve curated (notes, photos, recommendations) is sent to your friend via a temporary link. This link expires after 7 days, and the content is deleted from our servers once it’s accessed.
Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party services to maintain the app (e.g., cloud hosting for temporary shared content). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and cannot use it for any other purpose.
🛡️ Your Data Control
Since all your core data is stored locally, you have full control:
You can delete your travel guides, photos, and videos at any time from your in-app collection.
Clearing your device’s local storage or uninstalling Chood will remove all your data from your device.
You can disable location access in your device settings at any time, though this will limit map and check-in features.
